30 October 1998, UK – Abstract Worlds Ltd, today announced the launch date of its forthcoming 3D space shoot ’em up game, Close Approach.
Monday, 23 November 1998 has been set as the date for the launch of the company, it’s first game and the company web site. The UK based Abstract Worlds develops its own PC games and sells them directly to customers via the Internet, removing middlemen and other costs in order to deliver the best possible value to the customer.
The company’s first game, Close Approach, is named after the Close Approach tables kept by NASA on asteroids whose orbits bring them in close proximity with the Earth. Set in the year 2100, the aim is to pilot your ship and two probes in 3D space and blast the asteroids out of existence before they collide with the Earth. During judi slot development, research was undertaken into gravity propulsion, saucer shaped spacecraft and asteroids.
Close Approach uses Microsoft’s Direct3D for 3D graphics and DirectSound for 3D spatial sound. The game is available for Pentium class PC’s running Windows 95, Windows 98 and Windows NT. Although not required, a 3D card will greatly enhance the game and all major 3D cards have been tested. As far as Abstract Worlds is aware, this is the first 3D shoot ’em up game developed in Microsoft’s Visual Basic. Despite past misconceptions about VB’s performance as a gaming language, Close Approach proves that it is possible to produce an enjoyable, fast paced action game in VB and Direct3D.
A free playable demo of the game is available now, showing three levels. The full version of the game will cost £5 and can be securely purchased and downloaded from the website.
We would like you to get involved in this exciting new launch and demo copies of Close Approach are obtainable now from our website at www.abstractworlds.com for you to copy and make available to your readers.
If you are going to publicise Close Approach, we would be grateful if you could advise us in which edition this will be.
Patented new software revolutionizes Time & Attendance
Huntington Beach, California, 14 October 1998: Adaptiv Software Corporation today announced Adaptiv TimeFORCE™, a new software product designed to bring the benefits of effective time management to the many business that have wanted an open and scalable 32-bit time and attendance system at a price that makes sense. In making the announcement, Jack Brantley, president and chairman of Adaptiv Software Corporation, said, “Adaptiv TimeFORCE represents an important step toward achieving total organizational productivity and financial control. Adaptiv TimeFORCE does this by integrating the power of its employee scheduling and job management software, Adaptiv WorkFORCE, with the easy-to-use time and attendance functionality of Adaptiv TimeFORCE.
“Most companies want to make better use of their human resources. Now they can. Adaptiv TimeFORCE offers a complete solution: Users can automatically schedule their people, assign jobs to specific people, then compare the planned schedules to actuals using data from a variety of time-keeping devices, quickly resolve any exceptions, and ship the results to payroll.”
Designed for Microsoft Windows95, Windows98 and Windows NT, Adaptiv TimeFORCE is the first product to deliver a reasonably priced and easy-to-use solution that includes employee scheduling, job costing and management, personnel record-keeping, time & attendance, and connectivity to popular payroll services. The Slot Online software accepts input from popular time clocks or from Adaptiv’s own NetClock™, which takes a time, stamp off the network server. It gives a manager all the tools needed to effectively manage the workforce.
Adaptiv TimeFORCE also functions as an HR workstation by storing important personnel information in one place: Everything from payroll data to employee photos, free-form management notes and user-defined information. The product comes with scores of professional reports, and more can be easily added. Users can even print bar-coded employee ID badges or e-mail individual employees their schedules and their job assignments. The product’s patented TimeVisualizer® allows users to graphically see and manipulate time-based events on screen for any time period desired, from minutes to a month, using moveable, re-sizable timebars. This timebar-based graphical information is dynamically linked to an editable table on screen, which contains additional detail. TimeVisualizer helps users instantly understand the operation of their business. Brantley continued,
“Adaptiv TimeFORCE is aimed at what we see as a large and mostly unreached middle market that wants efficient scheduling, job management and easy payroll pre-processing.
“Customers have told us they want a simple-to-use and affordable Time & Attendance System. They’re tired of the expensive proprietary solutions that have dominated the market up until now. More and more companies want scalable, 32-bit, open systems for Microsoft Windows NT, Windows 95 and Windows 98 that can easily be integrated with other software into a complete, custom solution that’s right for their particular operation.
“That’s why we designed Adaptiv TimeFORCE to be flexible and completely customizable, so it can easily be deployed in virtually any setting. We also made the product scalable and extensible, so it can handle the complexities of any size organization. Adaptiv TimeFORCE/SQL our Enterprise solution, scheduled for release later this year, is designed for large-scale, high-volume applications. And, all our products are Year 2000 compliant.”
Adaptiv TimeFORCE is offered as a multi-user, client-server product running on all popular networks, with licenses ranging from five users up to 250 users and more.
